Speaker – Andrew Kirby – Lost Places – Abandoned Buildings

When the Berlin Wall came down and Germany reunified, many buildings owned and operated by the DDR and the Russian Military were handed over to the west, locked up and never used again. Over the last ten years I have been engaged in a project to photograph these places before they are developed or demolished. This talk is a virtual tour of some of my favourite spots with details of how I approach my photography and solve some of the technical and logistical problems. Mostly projected presentation, although as I prefer Prints, I will bring some prints along too.
