21-August 24 – Snappers visit Western Turville Reservoir (BBOWT)

Where has all the wildlife gone? That was the question on most of our member’s lips.
We visited another local BBOWT site, College Lake just a few weeks earlier and experienced the same lack of birdlife and insect activity.  It sparked off a conversation about wildlife in general and seemingly its decline in this area in particular. Perhaps habitat loss caused by the local HS2 works is having a greater impact on our nature and wildlife than we thought possible. Sadly it seems, some people who visit the place disrespect it by leaving litter everywhere, which might also contribute to the loss of wildlife.  

As photographers we want subjects to photograph, so its little wonder the response from the group to send in images for this blog was less than fruitful.

I suppose the best that could be said about this visit was the weather stayed fine for us apart from some blustery winds.
