The Portfolio Competition is divided into Print and PDI. There were 4 Prints and 15 PDI entries which was fewer than normal but the Judge, Chris Forster, believed it worthwhile to continue. He explained that the three images in each triptych had to be technically good in their own right, be complementary to each other and tell a story in the final triptych image. Each entry was well critiqued and improvements suggested.
In the Print section the Winner was judged to be “Red Kite (Milvus milvus) Painted Raptors” by David Gibbs.
“Love in the Mist (Nigela)” by Peter Parrey was Highly Commended.
In the PDI section the Winner was judged to be “Sparkling Glass” by David Gibbs.
“Zebra Hunt” by Steven Clennell and “Species Gladioli” by Richard Jones were Highly Commended.
The evening finished early but enabled the Judge to leave early and members to have a social refreshment break.
