Today we had a presentation from fellow-member Alun Morgan on Portfolio software. This is Adobe’s online website platform where you can display your images in stunning galleries. One of its major benefits is that it links directly to Lightroom using the ‘Collection Sets’ for easy and smooth transfer of images, and if you’re already a subscriber to Adobe Cloud, access to Portfolio is free and part of your subscription.
The software automatically reduces the resolution of the images to optimise load-time and viewing. This also makes it less useful to a copyright thief. Having this built-in functionality removes any need to research optimal DPI, web colour-space, and pixel width you would need to do if exporting your images for general web use. Portfolio offers a very simple portfolio builder and users who are happy creating a simple set of web pages that showcase their work, will be pleased with the easy workflow and hassle-free templates.
Using Portfolio is a great way for your family and friends to view your photography efforts.
