Happy to report that an image submitted by PRPS member John Culling LRPS to Risborough Town Council was selected as one of the 37 art works which are displayed in Wades Park. As John’s entry will be displayed for the next year it represents slightly more than 15 minutes of fame!
The new Art works were erected in the park today and our featured image is of a very happy photographer standing beside the display board.
The image title is ‘Pity the Fish’ and the short blurb John was required to provide says: –
‘Having waited through lockdowns over the last few years John was able to visit Scotland in 2023. After sitting patiently by a river in Kirkcudbright, John achieved his ambition of capturing this image of a Kingfisher in flight with its meal, struggling to escape.’
The overall winner of the Art in The Park this year is yet to be decided, but there are several interesting art works on display. The PRPS Wainwright Natural History Competition next year, however, is another matter, so advanced warning that this will be the print image to beat.
Congratulations John – a great image.
