19-June 24 – Oxford City Tour Universities & Gardens

Six members assembled at Thornhill Park and Ride on time and a Bus was waiting for us. We alighted in the High Street to visit the Botanic Gardens first. Unusual for Snappers the weather was dry and bright giving plenty of light although challenging at times. Lovely grounds to wander around adjacent to the river with many and varied borders and themes along with specialist green-house areas.

Lunch was taken in the Covered Market pending our return to Magdalen College although one member stayed to do some Street Photography.

Magdalen College gave opportunities to wander the interesting grounds and the College Buildings. A surprise was a small herd of Deer in a closed off area. We were able to go inside the main College Building to view the large quadrangle and eventually the Church and Hall.

It was an excellent day out giving us interesting and at time challenging photographic opportunities. A big thanks to Peter Parrey who arranged it.
